First thoughts on Project C.

Thoughts about my project initially were how am I going to approach this problem in a different direction from my other two classmates who were doing aviation exhibits as well. Both classmates had really good concepts and I was kind of stuck for a good minute. I could not decide what theme and illustrative style I should go with. I wanted try to go with a more photographic or raster design, but it seemed like most designers in my class were doing that. So, Frances suggested an illustrative style similar to Schwab. A more vector based look. I started making comps and it all took shape. I liked where the project was headed and happy about the color choices. Since the aircrafts were from the Vietnam war, I chose to use reds, yellows, and greens for the backgrounds. I made the colors in the background more muted and used tints and shades of the same colors to give the aircrafts more saturation and impact. The flash development after that was more easier after I came to a design solution that I was happy with. I really enjoyed and admired Aarons and Bryans projects. Each one had its own style and voice. Aarons them was from an old black and white film and the flying aircraft navigation of the site was awesome. Bryan’s had a nice vintage look and feel and had good use of color and high resolution images.
